Starting a new chapter
Who is FinLit123 looking for?
FinLit123 is looking for motivated and independent high school students to serve as chapter leaders in their own high schools. FinLit123 will provide a curriculum with activity outlines, but there will be flexibility on how each individual chapter can be run to best suit the needs of students. Thus, aside from the outline, chapter leaders will independently lead their chapters, and they will have online quarterly meetings with the FinLit123 Board. Furthermore, FinLit123 will hold online speaker panels and other events for all members.
What does a chapter leader do?
- Start FinLit123 chapter at school
- Recruit members
- Host bi-weekly or monthly chapter meetings for approximately 45 minutes
- Host a community outreach event (hosting elementary school students at a club meeting, having an open seminar on financial literacy, etc.)
- Attend virtual quarterly meetings with the Board of Directors to provide updates on progress
- There is a lot of flexibility to make each chapter your own (within established guidelines)
